The Indian Premier League [IPL] is a platform where talent meets opportunity. Every year, there are so many talented cricketers who bag life-changing contracts. The recently-concluded IPL 2021 auction was no different. The marquee event saw a plethora of young Indian and overseas cricketers earn a well-deserved award for their talent and unrelenting hard work. One of them is Tamil Nadu’s, Shahrukh Khan.
The dynamic Tamil Nadu batsman earned a well-deserved contract in the IPL 2021 auction on Thursday. Khan, who has impressed one and all with his exploits in the Tamil Nadu Premier League and in domestic white-ball tournaments bagged a contract worth Rs 5.25 crore with the KL Rahul-led Punjab Kings.
And, his Tamil Nadu skipper Dinesh Karthik took to his official Twitter account on Thursday to share a video where Shahrukh Khan can be seen following the proceedings of the auction on his mobile phone amid the loud cheers from his Tamil Nadu teammates while traveling in a bus.

Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals were involved in a bidding war to claim the services of Shahrukh Khan and ultimately it was the Priety Zinta-led Punjab Kings who outbid the Jaipur-based franchise.
The addition of Shahrukh Khan will further bolster the Punjab Kings batting-unit. The swashbuckler is renowned for playing brisk and game-changing cameos, which was truly evident in Tamil Nadu’s title-winning heist in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. In 4 innings, Shahrukh Khan scored 88 runs at a strike-rate of 220.
