SunRisers Hyderabad leg-spinner Rashid Khan has made amends for the catch that he had earlier dropped of Punjab Kings opener Mayank Agarwal [22 off 25 balls] by claiming a brilliant catch at short mid-wicket to send the dangerous Karnataka opener packing.
It all happened on the final ball of the seventh over bowled by Khaleel Ahmed when Mayank Agarwal, in an attempt to pull the left-pacer holed out to the Afghan leg-spinner.
It was yet another case of a Punjab Kings batsmen getting undone by the change of pace. It was a short delivery and Mayank rocked back to set himself up for the pull but it turned out to be a slower off-cutter.
With the bowler not giving any pace for Mayank to work with, the Karnataka swashbuckler couldn’t time and all he could manage is to get a toe-end of the bat.
Rashid Khan, who had earlier dropped Mayank Agarwal at deep mid-wicket, did not make any mistake this time around as he lunged forward to take a brilliant diving catch.
The wicket of Mayank Agarwal was a second body-blow to Punjab Kings, who had earlier lost their skipper KL Rahul to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Since Mayank’s dismissal, Punjab Kings have lost two more crucial wickets in the form of Nicholas Pooran [run-out] and Chris Gayle, who was trapped plumb in front by Rashid Khan.
At the time of writing, Punjab Kings were reeling at 4/47 after nine overs.
