Australia and Punjab Kings pacer Riley Meredith had the last laugh during his battle against Royal Challengers Bangalore opener, Devdutt Padikkal, as the tearaway pacer sent the southpaw’s off-stump for a cartwheel.
It all happened during the 3rd over of the Royal Challengers Bangalore run-chase of 180 when Riley Meredith came back brilliantly after having been smoked for a six.
Padikkal [7 off 6 balls] had carved Meredith for an audacious six over extra-cover on the 2nd ball but the rush of blood eventually led to his downfall.
Padikkal, in an attempt to slam the ball over the infield, backed away on the leg-stump but the ball was just too quick for that kind of stroke, and the off-stump went for a cartwheel towards the fine-leg region.
At the time of writing, Royal Challengers Bangalore were 1/36 in 6 overs with Virat Kohli struggling a bit to increase the tempo of the innings.
