Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar and Jonny Bairstow were found in a heated verbal exchange as India took on England in the first T20 of the five-match series. Both the players exchanged verbal blows to each other as they were interrupted by the umpire to separate them and stop the blows.

The English cricket team won the first T20I by 8 wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. Having won the toss, the England National Cricket Team elected to bowl first. They were right on the mark as they sent the Indian batsmen back to the dugout at regular intervals, preventing them from a huge first innings score.

The Indian players looked frustrated throughout the games as the visitors gave them no chance to get their heads in front. First up, the English bowlers dismissed the Indian batting line up and the batsmen from the hosts could only manage 124 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Then, they won the game in just 15.3 overs to take a lead in the series.

The frustration from the Indian team was quite visible on the field as the Indian players were not at all happy with their dismal performance. In the 14th over of the game, Washington Sundar and Jonny Bairstow entered in a heated verbal exchange as they collided when David Malan hit a shot towards Bairstow at the non-striker’s end and Sundar was not happy with Bairstow not moving from the front, denying Sundar of a caught and bold opportunity.
