Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers on Friday picked a combined ODI XI for India and South Africa. The Royal Challengers Bangalore teammates revealed the star-studded team during their Instagram chat. Both the players talked on a number of topics and during that same interaction, they decided to pick the combined eleven.

The batting stars picked the players alternatively. They ended up picking a squad of  14 members before deciding to keep Ravindra Jadeja, Morne Morkel and Kuldeep Yadav out of the playing XI. Virat Kohli picked Gary Kirsten as the coach of the India-South Africa combined XI and picked MS Dhoni as the captain.

“For me, MS (Dhoni), MS is probably the most balanced choice,” Virat Kohli said.

“I am happy with that choice. I have never played under MS. But I have a world of respect for him. The way he carries himself on and off the field. I mean, he is always calm and he knows the game well. So I am happy with that,” AB de Villiers said.
