Virat Kohli has reached enormous heights in his career and is surely on route to become one of the greatest batsmen to have ever played the game. Kohli is one of the finest batsmen of his generation and has always made sure that he gave his 100 percent on the field. A lot of former and present cricketers have hailed Kohli for his determination towards his game and his desire to succeed.
Kohli scored his 33rd ODI century in the first ODI against South Africa in Durban and then continued his good form in the second ODI where he remained unbeaten on 46. Kohli has also led the Indian side to greater heights with leadership skills.
However, one of the rare failures in his career has been his incapability to lead his IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore to an IPL title. Kohli has been associated with RCB since the beginning of the league.
Talking about his batting Jennings feels Kohli has always been above the rest of the batsmen of his generation as he watched him play in the Under-19 World Cup from the opposite camp, “I think 32 is the best age for any batsman and he is yet to get there, so you can add a few more hundreds to that 33 mark. I was the coach of South Africa Under-19s when he led India to the Under-19 World Cup win (2008). From that time itself, I thought he was someone who stood out in his age group in terms of batting.”
“In all my experience, he is the best player against spin that I have ever seen. Is he better than Sir Don Bradman? I don’t know, but he is definitely amongst the top-two batsmen in the world at the moment. People talk about his overseas record, but in the Test series, he outscored Hashim Amla, AB de Villiers and Faf Du Plessis in their home conditions,” he added.
