Virat Kohli and Ab de Villiers are my Idols - Fabian Allen

Not a known face, Windies batsman Fabian Allen talks about his favourite IPL team and whom he adores. The Caribbean batsman, who shot into limelight during CPL 2018 says Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is his favourite IPL franchise. Meanwhile, he further addressed the matter and said he idolises Virat Kohli and Ab de Villiers. Though de Villiers had announced his international retirement earlier, Virat is currently leading the India team Down Under.

Fabian talks about bowling to Virat Kohli

Speaking to CricTracker, the Windies batsman opened about his experience of bowling to the Indian stalwarts. Of late, Fabian Allen made his international debut against India in the ODI; courtesy his excellent show in the Canada Premier League 2018 and CPL mentioned above 2018 as well.

As Allen had drawn attention for his 30-ball 75 in the inaugural game of the Canada Premier League, he got picked for India series. Sharing his experience of debuting for the Windies team and bowling to Virat Kohli, particularly, Fabian said,

“First and foremost, I would like to thank God for everything. Making my international debut against India was successful as playing in India is a tough challenge for the West Indies and for me.

“Bowling at Virat Kohli who is the best in the world was challenging for me. But I am happy that in patches I execute my plan and held my nerve to put the ball in the right areas. It was a great learning for me which will help going forward in my career,”

To play IPL is everyone’s dream – Fabian

The Indian Premier League has become a dream to play for, for many cricketers. Though the likes of Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo have been around for a decade now, Allen says he would like to leave his mark in the league as well.

Now, ahead of the IPL 2019 auction, to begin in Jaipur on December 18th, Fabian says he will like to have an IPL spot.

“West Indies have done very well in T20s because the players are very attacking which is a must in T20s. Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Kieron Pollard are the best while Nicholas Pooran is the upcoming youngster who can strike the ball well.

“Definitely, I am looking for an IPL spot. That’s my dream so I wouldn’t mind if it comes true this Christmas. I would be very happy. I try to play T20s and do well so that I can get a spot in the IPL. I am working hard and still young and looking for opportunities,”

‘Of course, RCB is one of my favourites’

When talked about his favourite franchise, Fabian Allen immediately said ‘RCB’.

“Of course, RCB is one of my favourites. AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle are my idols. IPL is very challenging and that’s why I want to play it. I feel like I am 100 per cent ready for IPL. Just looking for someone to grab me in their team. I am ready.”
