Virat Kohli Weds Anushka Sharma - All that You Need to Know

The wonder boy of Indian cricket, Virat Kohli has finally tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend, Anushka Sharma in a private ceremony at Milan in Italy.

The marriage took place on December 11th, Monday amidst very close family members and friends. The speculations of their wedding started doing the rounds when Virat opted to rest from the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka. Though a few days before their wedding, a spokesperson of Anushka Sharma denied all these reports and claimed it to be false.

However, the power couple never denied the rumours nor did they accept it publicly. It was wasn’t until 8 p.m. that the couple announced publicly about their marriage. It was learnt that the duo tied the knot yesterday (Sunday) morning.

The couple were looking stunning in their wedding wear and were happier than ever. They were seen smiling at each other which proved that how much they had waited for the day. There had been several ups and downs in their relationship, but eventually, both have stayed by each other’s side and given a name to their relation in the form of marriage.

How the Couple fell for each other

The couple first met each other in the year 2013 when they were spotted working for a television commercial and became good friends. They even got located in various places, and in no time the speculations of their alleged relationship started doing the rounds.

The matter caught the attention of media when Team India arrived at the Mumbai airport from the tour of South Africa in January 2014. Instead of going to the team hotel Virat went to Anushka’s apartment. In fact, it was the actress who had sent her car to pick up Kohli from the airport.

The Game of Love

The power couple didn’t accept their relationship in the initial period, but that didn’t stop them from spending some quality time with each other. The actress went to New Zealand in 2014, and the Indian team was also present there for a tour. The couple was spotted together and seen strolling the city hand in hand which proved that they were very much in love.

Towards the fag end of the year, Virat gave Anushka a surprise visit in Sri Lanka where his lady love was busy shooting for Bombay Velvet. The India skipper also visited his ladylove on her 26^th birthday in Udaipur when she was shooting for PK. The couple finally made their first public appearance together during an Indian Super League match in October 2014.

Accepting About their Relation Publicly

After being spotted with each other several times, there was no doubt about the fact that love had blossomed between Kohli and Anushka, but the final acceptance from the couple came in a quite strange manner. After reaching a century against Sri Lanka in November 2014, Virat blew a flying kiss towards Anushka who was part of the crowd.

In the same year, Virat accepted his relation with Anushka during an event and said,

“Whatever is there is out in the open, I have nothing to hide.” Anushka too accepted their relationship at another event and said, “We are not hiding anything. We are being two normal young people in a relationship.”

The Controversies

The duo was often dragged into unnecessary controversies by the media despite wanting to keep their relationship under the wraps. During the promotion of her film NH 10, Anushka reportedly lost her cool when she was constantly asked questions related to her relationship with Kohli rather than being asked questions on the movie.

Another controversy broke out when Virat Kohli apparently abused a journalist in England during a practise session confusing him to be another journalist who had written a story on him and Anushka. Upon knowing what had happened, Kohli went and apologised to the journalist. While these were the times, the couple had fought the world for each other there also happened to be a time when the couple fought with each other.

Various reports were claiming that Anushka’s bold photoshoot for a men’s magazine didn’t go down well with Kohli and he showed displeasure towards this to his ladylove. Apparently, they had a major fight over the telephone but soon cleared up things.

Break-up

In February 2016, reports started doing the rounds that Virat and Anushka have taken a short break from their relation to concentrate on their respective professions and focus on their work. It was undoubtedly a bad phase in their relationship and their fans were left heartbroken.

However, the duo surprised each other by attending the success bash of Sultan at Salman Khan’s residence.

But only after a couple of months the news of their break up started doing the rounds and it became quite apparent that the couple had their differences. While Virat wanted to settle down in life, Anushka, on the other hand, wanted to focus on her career. As per reports, it was learnt that Virat’s over-possessive nature played a role in creating a rift between the two.

The couple almost confirmed their break-up when they unfollowed each other on Instagram but the very next year the couple was back together, as they walked hand-in-hand during the marriage ceremony of Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech.

Falling in Love Again

Following their break-up, the couple understood how much they loved each other and couldn’t stay without them. Virat and Anushka came back stronger at the end of 2016 and attended the marriage bash of Yuvraj and Hazel at the end of the year. The couple was also seen dancing their heart out during the ceremony.

Mutual Admiration for Each Other

The couple had publicly praised each other for their respective work. In 2015, after watching NH 10, Virat shared an emotional tweet where he congratulated Anushka for a brilliant performance in the movie. The actress also had time and again praised her husband for his stellar performances for Team India and his franchises.

Tying the Knot

Putting all the speculations to rest, the power couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in Milan, Italy on Sunday morning. As per reports, only Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh among cricketers were present on the auspicious occasion. It is expected that a lavish party will be given by Kohli to his teammates before Team India leaves for South Africa later in this month.
