Indian captain Virat Kohli is not having a good time with the bat, especially in limited-overs cricket. It has been more than six months that captain Kohli scored a hundred in the limited-overs format and cricket spectators aren’t used to it. India are currently on the New Zealand tour.

Having won the T20 series 5-0, India had a disappointing run in the ODIs and lost the first two games to lose out the three-match series.

Indian batting has been very average in the ODIs. In the absence of regular openers, Rohit Sharma and Shikar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal were handed their chances but they failed to deliver.

Kohli was the senior-most batsman in the squad after Rohit’s departure, but he too failed to shoulder the responsibility as he could manage a single half-century in the three ODIs.

Virat Kohli Achieves Unwanted Record During New Zealand ODI Series:

Indian skipper Kohli has achieved an unwanted record in the ODI series against New Zealand. The India-New Zealand ODI series has been the worst series for him since his captaincy debut.

Kohli has scored the least runs in this bilateral series as a captain. In the three innings that he played, Kohli scored a total of 75 runs in the series.

His previous low was against the West Indies last summer. In Windies, he managed to score only 89 runs in the three ODIs that he played.

Now, his third-lowest performance in a series was in the 2018/19 New Zealand series where he managed to score only 148 runs in the five games that he played.

Individual performances have suffered a great deal in the ODI series. Shaw and Agarwal were shown faith upon but they disappointed with the bat.

Captain Kohli had a nightmare of a series against the Kiwis and would like to improve his performance in the impending Tests.

The most troublesome concern for India has been Jasprit Bumrah’s form. Bumrah has gone wicketless in the ODI series so far and has also proved to be a costly bowler.
