The right-handed batsman Kohli smashed six boundaries which further saw him copping a couple of blows on a surface which has demons in it and subsequently forced on-field umpires to discuss the dangerous surface.

When Kohli was batting on 40 in the second innings, he equalled Dhoni’s score before going past the four-year-old Test record with a single.

Driving force Kohli has been already delivering for Team India which further saw him shouldering the responsibility to lead from the front.

Kohli sits now at the top of the table among Indian captains when it comes to scoring runs.

The prolific batsman Kohli took 56 innings to amass 3,455, after surpassing the previous best of 3,454 in 96 innings set by the 36-year-old gloveman Dhoni.

In overall 66 Tests, Kohli is averaging at 53.40 after amassing 5,554 runs which further saw him registering 21 tons and 16 fifties.
