Virat Kohli Lone Indian in Adam Voges' Dream T20 Team

India skipper Virat Kohli is the lone Indian to find a place in former Australia batsman Adam Voges’ dream T20 team with players from Big Bash League dominating the side.

Defending Big Bash League champions, Perth Scorchers posted a clip on their official Twitter handle, showing Voges revealing the team. The Scorchers skipper’s team comprises four Australians in David Warner, Shaun Marsh, Mitchell Starc and Andrew Tye, three West Indians Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo and Sunil Narine and one each from South Africa (AB de Villiers), Sri Lanka (Lasith Malinga) and New Zealand (Brendon McCullum).

Voges opted for a left-right combination at the top, giving Gayle and McCullum the responsibility to open the batting with Warner at first drop.

“Opening the batting in my T20 dream would be Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum. Gayle’s record speaks for itself. I think he has 17 or 18 (20) T20 hundreds. Alongside him would be Brendon McCullum. It will be incredibly dynamic,” Voges said.

“At number three, I have got David Warner. Incredible record in the short format of the game. He’s a wonderful player,” added Voges.

The 38-year old opted for his Scorchers teammate Shaun Marsh, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in the middle-order.

“At number five, I have got Virat Kohli, the king of run-chases. The team will be very happy having him come at number five,” said Voges before revealing de Villiers as his number six batsmen.

” I just couldn’t get him any higher.What a wonderful player. Incredibly difficult to bowl to and someone who can really finish off the innings well,” said Voges of de Villiers.

Voges picked Bravo as the all-rounder of his team while Narine was the sole-spinner. The pace bowling department would be taken care by Mitchell Starc, Lasith Malinga and Andrew Tye.
