Virat Kohli is set to lead Team India for a full series against Australia from the last week of November. Under the captaincy of Kohli, India emerged victorious in the previous Test series, but their challenge might get stiffer this time with the return of Steve Smith and David Warner in the Australian set up.

Kohli is an ‘in your face’ player. He hardly given an inch. He will be the most important wicket for Australia when India tours Down Under. And ahead of the grueling series, former Australia captain Steve Waugh has warned his countrymen against sledging the Indian captain.

Sledging is not going to worry Virat Kohli: Steve Waugh

Kohli is a determined spirit who made his way to become one of the finest cricketers of all-time through sheer self belief and hard-work. Waugh said that sledging Kohli is not going to worry him as it never works against the great players. He also mentioned that it might rather work as a motivation for him and he will get much more runs.

“Sledging is not going to worry Virat Kohli, it doesn´t work against the great players and you´re better off leaving those guys alone,” Waugh told SNTV in an interview on Thursday.

“I think any extra motivation will make them dig in more and get more runs. So you´re better off not saying much to him.”

India’s tour Down Under is the most-anticipated series’ for Cricket Australia after the pandemic situation has hit the normal schedule. The board has made special arrangements for the series, including the bio-bubble, as the traditional four-Test series will help them to recover from the losses due to non-commencement of matches.

The hosting board has been hit by a major turmoil in the recent past, and it continues to worsen. The tussle between the cricket board and Channel 7 has taken another turn as reports suggest that a legal arbitration being pursued by the broadcaster owing to a ‘breach of contract’ by the board for ‘delivering a product not equal in quality to what was delivered the previous year’.
