Virat Kohli is still to lead RCB to an IPL triumph. Though the franchise chairman Sanjeev Churiwala continues to keep his faith in him. RCB has been the most unsuccessful side in the IPL thus far. Despite having experimented with plenty of talents, the side has not been able to yield benefits from it.

RCB has the record of reaching three finals. RCB entered the final match last time in 2016 but since then they have been at the bottom of the table. Moreover, in 2019, the franchise  finished last with just 5 wins from 14 matches. The team chairman has also said that though the team is learning, not winning titles adds pressure.

He, however, mentioned that Kohli has highest fan following and the franchise is proud to be associated with him. They are not looking to replace someone who has an incredible track record and as a RCB owner Churiwala is extremely proud of it.

“Virat is the Indian captain,” Churiwala said. “And has the highest fan-followers. We all love Virat and love to be associated with Virat. Look, this is what (the) game is: sometimes you lose, sometimes you win, but let’s not forget what that individual is and what kind of track record he has,” Churiwala said. “As RCB, as an RCB owner, we are very, very proud that Virat is associated with us.”

RCB has been bolstered with plenty of talents in their ranks. However, they have not been able to make the most of it. RCB have played with the likes of Chris Gayle, captain Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers in their side. But their bowling at the same time has been questionable. Mitchell Starc has missed out on playing for the franchise owing to injuries.

Meanwhile, after VIVO pulled out as the sponsors for IPL, Dream 11 bagged the deal for Rs.220 crore for four months. IPL will get underway from September 19 with the final being played on November 10. However, the final fixture for the lucrative tournament is still to be announced, with Mumbai Indians set to put their title on defense.
