Team India fast bowlers have been the best in the business in recent time. The likes of Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, and Umesh Yadav have been in their element in the last test series against Bangladesh as India extended their lead at the top of the ICC World Test Championship. Skipper Virat Kohli recently hailed the fast bowling groups while revealing their inside stories.

The fast bowlers have been the talking point for more than a year or so. They showed great display as India registered their first-ever Test series against Australia earlier this year. Although they didn’t win against South Africa and England before the series against the Aussies, but the fast bowlers earned praise. Their good continued as India scripted three consecutive series wins against West Indies, South Africa, and Bangladesh.

Virat Kohli reveals insider stories about his pace attack

The fast bowlers have registered the world-best strike-rates in 2019 and are also in the list top wicket-takers list in this year. Skipper Virat Kohli has always spoken highly of his pace attack and always run out of words while praising the pace quartet. However, recently, he revealed some funny traits of India’s fast bowlers for the first time.

“I cannot explain to you but you watch any funny movie that comes out in this day and age, compare it with these guys hanging out together, you will laugh more looking at these guys. I mean obviously you have to sensor things a little bit. I mean it is amazing.

“Ishant is the most senior, his legs being pulled around the most. Jassi (Bumrah) is very shy, very composed but amazingly witty. He would say things at the right time. Timing is perfect. Bhuvi (Bhuvneshwar Kumar) is proper UP ka you know, mazaak karne wala (likes to joke around). Shami again, he gets along and Umesh as well. Umesh bhi uski tang kheechta hain, you know,” Kohli told India Today Consulting Editor Boria Majumdar in a candid chat.

The fast bowlers will once again be in action when India play West Indies in the T20Is and ODIs followed by the series against Australia and New Zealand.
