Few days after watching some of the biggest names in world cricket featuring in T10 League, the fans are now all set to enjoy another innovative tournament as some big names of yesteryear are gearing up to play in the inaugural Ice Cricket event in St. Moritz, Switzerland.

Former India opener Virender Sehwag will be one of the biggest attractions in the tournament which will also feature the likes of Shahid Afridi, Graeme Smith, Mohammad Kaif, Shoaib Akhtar, Mahela Jayawardene, Lasith Malinga, Michael Hussey, Jacques Kallis, Daniel Vettori, Nathan McCullum, Grant Elliot, Monty Panesar and Owais Shah.

Former South Africa skipper Graeme Smith admitted that he had no clue whatsoever about what to expect from the tournament but said he was excited to play in the picturesque location.

“I don’t know what to expect but I am really excited to play in a beautiful part of the world. I hope the event is a huge success,” Smith said.

Smith also said he was excited to share the field once again with his contemporaries.

“There are lot of brilliant cricketers involved. I have played against all these guys in international cricket. It will be nice to spend some quality time with them and put up a good show with the cricket,” said the legendary skipper.

Meanwhile, the tournament is being organised by VJ Sports and will be a 20-over format. The organisers have claimed that the event has the approval of International Cricket Council (ICC). The cricketers will play using the traditional cricketing gear including the red-ball but will wear sports shoes instead of spikes.
