When it comes to trolling others on Twitter, there are very few who are better than Virender Sehwag. The former India opener has a massive fan following on Twitter due to his hilarious and unique posts. Not the one to refrain from making bold comments, Sehwag has carved out his own niche on the social media with his witty and funny remarks.

But on Tuesday, the legendary batsman got a taste of his own medicine when he took to Twitter to promote T10 cricket.

“The @T10LeagueTweets looks stronger than ever with its added teams and ICC/ECB sanctions in place. World’s first ten overs cricket league ready to roll from 23 November. Show your support to the revolution in cricket! ,” he tweeted.

Well, Sehwag would have never expected what was going to follow after he posted the promotional tweet. As soon as he posted the tweet, the fans jumped in action to criticise the league and take a dig at the swashbuckling opener. Some called the latest format in the game as a “Toss-League” while others criticised the growth of such a league as nothing short of a major threat to Test cricket.

Meanwhile, the organisers are gearing up to hold the second edition of the world’s first ever 10-overs competition. The inaugural season was held in Sharjah last year and was quite a success. The upcoming edition will be held from November 23 to December 2.

Eight teams – Kerala Kings, Punjab Legends, Maratha Arabians, Bengal Tigers, The Karachians, Rajputs, Northern Warriors and Pakhtoons – have been drawn in to two groups.

Virender Sehwag, meanwhile, will ply his trade as the batting coach of Maratha Arabians.
