Virender Sehwag Congratulates RP Singh on his Retirement

Gone are those days when team India was filled with left-arm fast bowlers. Out of them, the presence of RP Singh has always been a special, as he got the nice action which yields the swing on any conditions. After an excellent time, he called time on his international career. Meanwhile, Virender Sehwag congratulated him.

RP Singh had come up with a long note on Tuesday announcing his retirement decision. It has been precisely 13 glorious years for RP Singh in the game of cricket which gave his services across the formats.

Meanwhile, the southpaw and Virender Sehwag played together for India on numerous occasion. They both got the decent friendship between them over years.

On the occasion of the retirement, Virender Sehwag gave his best wishes to him.

Virender Sehwag’s tweet read ”Wish you a very very happy second innings RP Singh (Rudra Pratap Singh). May God bless you.”

Earlier, he quoted, “13 years ago today, on 4th September 2005 was the first time I donned the Indian jersey. It was the stepping-stone to what would become the most cherished moments of my life. Today, as I hang my boots and call it a day I wish to remember and give thanks to each and everyone who made this journey possible.

RP Singh picked 40 wickets in Tests

Career Stats:

The southpaw played in 14 Test matches, 58 ODI games and 10 T20I matches for India. He bagged 40, 69 and 15 wickets, respectively to his name. During the course, he also played in 82 IPL games for various franchises.

However, it is a surprising retirement from Uttar Pradesh bowler, as he is just 32-year-old.

Probably, his weak performances of late could have made him take the decision. All in all, the letter from RP Singh seems like he is quite happy to call curtains on his career.
