Virender Sehwag would be the same person even if he scores 300 or gets out for a duck, Simon Taufel recently said. Sehwag would start off a innings with a boundary and hit a six to reach his century, it hardly mattered to him. He was fearless in his approach, which brought out the best within him, and benefited the teams he played for.
“Sehwag is one in a billion. His mentality is the recipe for success for everybody, and I think he doesn’t even know that. Sehwag would see the ball and hit it, not everyone is so talented,” former KXIP technical coach Shayamal Vallabhjee told the Times of India.
Sehwag was the first to score a triple century in Tests for India. He was also an explosive batsman who liked to take on the bowlers from the word go.
