Former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag revealed the Sachin Tendulkar of Pakistan Cricket team of his playing days. Sehwag said that they used to have proper plans for this player before the match against the Pakistan team. Meanwhile, Sehwag is hopeful of resumption of cricketing ties between India and Pakistan. The former opener is hopeful the government of both countries will sort out the differences.

India and Pakistan don’t lock horns on a regular basis as there is always a political tension between the arch-rivals. However, both the nemesis take on each other in big tournaments. India and Pakistan had squared off in the Asia Cup recently and the Men in Blue had gone on to win both the matches.

Shahid Afridi had a good record against India.

Meanwhile, Virender Sehwag revealed that former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi was the Sachin Tendulkar of the Pakistan team. Afridi had a sensational record while playing against India and had the skills to take the game away. Therefore, there was extra planning from the Indian side for Shahid Afridi.

“Everyone in our team had talked about Afridi before my first series against Pakistan. As a player, he was like our Tendulkar in the Pakistan team and we all discussed about him”, Virender Sehwag told Gulf News.

On the other hand, Sehwag is hopeful of the resumption of cricket between India and Pakistan. Sehwag has some sweet memories while playing against Pakistan as he had scored his triple hundred against Pakistan.

“Every Indian and Pakistani want to see an India-Pakistan series. We as cricketers also want to watch it. Hopefully, the governments of both countries will talk and resume the series. I have many lovely memories like my triple century in the Multan Test match double century in Lahore Test and my century in Kochi ODI match”, he added.

Virender Sehwag was instrumental in changing the way in which the game was played. He had no fear of failure and always played his natural game. However, Sehwag didn’t play a lot of rash shots.
