Former India opener Virender Sehwag has heaped praise on veteran South African speedster Dale Steyn saying, “the grass always seemed greener whenever Steyn bowled,” on the occasion of latter’s 35th birthday.

Meanwhile, Steyn is currently trying to regain his full fitness to make a strong comeback to international cricket. Most recently, he hogged to limelight with his impressive show in the County Cricket.

Steyn had sustained a heel injury during the Cape Town Test against India and missed the rest of the series.

Furthermore, the prominent bowler missed the action in the eventful series against Australia. However, Steyn will return to the national side for the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, starting next month.

Steyn, who has played 235 international matches for South Africa, made his debut in a Test match against England at Port Elizabeth in December 2004.

The Phalaborwa-born paceman Steyn has claimed 419 wickets in 86 Test matches so far.

Sehwag’s message for Steyn:

However, Steyn graced this mother earth on June 27, 35-years back. Since the clock ticked two, wishes started pouring for the deadly fast bowler. While most the wishes came from his followers, former cricketers and teammates also didn’t lag behind in such a race.

Virender Sehwag, known for taking the attack to bowlers, regarded Steyn as one of the dangerous bowlers in the business.

The Delhi-based veteran also admitted that whenever Steyn bowled the grass always looked greener. In fact, Sehwag during his heydays instilled the fear among best of the bowlers across the cricketing globe.
