Former Windies cricketer, Viv Richards has revealed the name of the batsman who excites him the most in the world cricket right now.

Meanwhile, Richards is undoubtedly one of the greatest of all times, and many young cricketers idolise him. Also, the players of the modern generation often hail him as the best they have ever seen.

Richards recently attended the charity match between the World XI and the Windies, the sale proceeds from which will go to rebuild the damaged stadium in the Caribbean.

The 2016 T20 World champions wholly outplayed the Shahid Afridi-led side beating them by 72 runs.

During the game, one of the commentators asked Richards to pick a player from the modern day cricket who excites him the most. Without any delay, the former cricketer took the name of the India captain, Virat Kohli.

He admitted, “I love watching Virat Kohli.”

Richards backed Kohli in England

However, this is not the first time the Windies legend has talked highly of the Indian skipper. Recently, he also supported Kohli to do well on the upcoming tour of England.

He had admitted Kohli has had an unfortunate run in the English conditions but noted he had improved significantly since the Indian team last toured England.

I’ll back him to improve on that, coming out of there [with an average] in the fifties or high forties. He has improved tremendously as a batsman. I’ll put my money on him scoring. He hasn’t quite done it to the English as he has to other teams around the world. That should be a huge motivator,” he said earlier.
