Wasim Akram's Comments On Azhar Ali Unacceptable To Pakistan Team Management

Pakistan are currently battling it out in the three-match Test match series against England in their backyard. The visitors trail the three-match Test rubber while in the final and ongoing match in Southampton, Zak Crawley and Jos Buttler have pummelled Pakistan’s bowling attack. Meanwhile, Pakistan team management has left irked by Wasim Akram’s comments on captain Azhar Ali.

Following their three-wicket loss in Manchester in the first Test, former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram reckoned that Azhar Ali missed deploying a few tricks in the game, as far as leadership is concerned. He lamented allowing the duo of Jos Buttler and Chris Woakes take the game away as the bowlers bowled no bouncers or short-pitched deliveries.

The former left-arm seamer stated that the defeat would hurt Pakistan for a long time. According to trusted sources, Akram’s comments have angered the team management and expressed the grievances to the PCB officials. The players believe that as a vital member of the PCB Cricket Committee, Akram’s criticism should not be harsh.

The PCB assured that the team management that they will have a conversation with Wasim Akram in this regard. The PCB Cricket Committee will also have to submit a report concerning the series as it concludes.
