Wasim Jaffer Becomes First Batsman To Score 12,000 Runs in Ranji Trophy

India’s most premier List A cricketer Wasim Jaffer just doesn’t seem to stop at this moment. He is breaking records after records in the First-Class cricket. Jaffer became the first cricketer to score 12000 runs in Ranji Trophy. The right-hander achieved this milestone in the ongoing game between Vidharbha and Kerala. In 2018, he also became the first batsman to score 11000 runs in Ranji Trophy.

Jaffer has 40 centuries to his name in Ranji Trophy which is also a tournament record. He is having another great season this year in the Ranji Trophy. When the season began, Jaffer had 11,775 runs to his name. He also played his 150th game of the tournament this season which is a tournament record.

Wasim Jaffer Breaks Yet Another Record:

Jaffer has now reached another milestone with his team in the Ranji Trophy. He has become the first-ever player to score 12000 runs in Ranji Trophy. Having made his debut in 1996/97 season, Jaffer has multiple records to his name in India’s premier domestic tournament. His excellence in the competition has earned him a lot of praise from fans and experts.

The senior batsman was also appointed as the batting coach of Bangladesh National Cricket Team and IPL franchise, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP).

Though Jaffer has been a phenomenal performer in domestic cricket, he has had a short international career. He played 31 Tests for India and scored 1944 runs at an average of 34.10. He smashed five centuries and 11 half-centuries in the process.

The right-hander has also scored a couple of double centuries in international cricket (212 vs West Indies and 202 vs Pakistan).
