The way Jos Buttler was batting in the ongoing fifth England vs India Test, it needed something special from India to get rid of the in-form wicket-keeper. And the moment of brilliance was provided by India’s vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane.

Rahane took a stunning catch to send back Buttler and wrap up the England innings as India finally heaved a sigh of relief. Buttler was looking primed to score his second century of the series. But with his partners running out from the other end, Buttler tried to play the big shots in order to score quickly. But one of those shots brought his downfall as he fell short by just 11 runs from a deserved century.

On the final ball of the 122nd over, Buttler tried to steal a single. And for the same, he played an uppish drive through the line. However, his attempt to clear the extra cover infield did not come off and he ended up edging it to the slip where Rahane took a brilliant reflex catch.

Here is a clip of that catch:

Meanwhile, England managed to score a challenging 332 despite starting the day on a precarious 198 for 7.  India did not take long to take the first wicket when Jasprit Bumrah accounted for Adil Rashid to reduce England to 214 for 8. However, Buttler and Stuart Broad put on 98 for the ninth wicket to frustrate the visitors. Buttler and James Anderson then added 20 runs before the former became the last English wicket to fall.

England, meanwhile, have already sealed the series and are leading 3-1.
