Watch: Furious Quiton de Kock Explodes In Dressing Room After Missing Out On Ton

Time and again, majority of the players have insisted they are not bothered about personal milestones. The notion, however, took a beating on Wednesday when South Africa star Quinton de Kock missed his century by just six runs in the second ODI against Sri Lanka. The wicketkeeper-batsman was looking in his elements and had slammed 17 fours and a six to race away to 94 off just 70 deliveries.

The century was there for him to take before he squandered the chance. And as soon as he edged the ball from Thisara Perera behind the stumps, it became crystal clear he was heavily disappointed. He walked off the field with his face down probably cursing himself for missing out on a century that was available on a platter. The southpaw climbed up the stairs before unleashing the wild side of him.

Furious with his dismissal, de Kock was seen swinging his bat wildly at an unseen object in the dressing room to vent his frustration.

De Kock, nonetheless, would have felt good after walking away with the Man of the Match award after the Proteas thrashed the visitors by 113 runs to take team a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. South Africa were looking primed to score big after racing away to 131 for 2. However, the floodgates opened once de Kock was out. The hosts lost their last six wickets for 31 runs to fall to a mediocre total of 251 all out.

The score, however, turned out to be more than enough in the end as Sri Lanka were all out for just 138.  Kagiso Rabada starred with the ball, picking up three for 43 while Lungi Ngidi, Imran Tahir and Anrich Nortje picked two wickets apiece.
