The third and final T20I between India and South Africa did not go down as expected by the hosts. Brimming with confidence after winning the second game by seven wickets, India entered the final game as firm favourites. However, South Africa came up with a superb bowling and batting effort to dismantle India by nine wickets.

The game turned out to be an one-sides affair as South Africa made light work of the fancied hosts to draw the three-match series. Batting first, India posted 134 for 9. At one stage when Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan were batting, it looked like India are set for a big score. However, the Men in Blue were reduced from 63 for 1 to 98 for 6 and managed only a paltry total.

The only way India could have won the game or make it a tight contest was by taking early wickets. However, Reeza Hendricks and Quinton de Kock started brilliantly and ended any hopes of an upset by adding 76 runs in 10 overs. De Kock went on to score 79 not out and was well supported by Temba Bavuma as Proteas chased down the modest total with utmost ease.

One of the worst performers for India in the game was fast-bowler Navdeep Saini. The Delhi star bowled just two overs and ended up conceding 25 runs without picking up a wicket. He erred with his line and lengths and could not make the most of the surface. With wickets not coming, Kohli  recalled Saini into the attack during the 12th over.

Saini had to look for wickets but he failed to strike the right lengths. With only 49 required off 54 balls, he leaked 12 runs in the over and reduced the deficit for the visitors. During all these, India vice-captain Rohit Sharma seems to have lost his patience with Saini. Rohit was seen giving an animated reaction to the youngster’s performance. The opening batsman also asked Saini to use his brain.

Here is a clip of that incident:
