Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma propelled India to 208 after losing the toss. The pair added 160 runs for the opening wicket – to lay the foundation for the batsmen to come in.
However, the middle-order struggled terribly as India managed to post 208 runs at the halfway mark in 20 allotted overs. Rohit departed three short from his hundred while Dhawan contributed 74 runs with the bat.
Dhawan continued his rich form in the UK as he played his shots right from the start. The southpaw played his natural shots and looked comfortable on both the sides. While Dhawan dominated the proceedings in the first team, it was Rohit’s turn in the second half.

It was full-length delivery as Pandya plunged onto it to play a perfect MS Dhoni trademark helicopter shot. The all-rounder remained unbeaten on six runs off the first delivery.
