Promising young all-rounder Hardik Pandya, once again showed his power as he launched the last ball for a six to finish India’s innings on a high in the first Twenty20 Internationals against Ireland in Dublin.

Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma propelled India to 208 after losing the toss. The pair added 160 runs for the opening wicket – to lay the foundation for the batsmen to come in.

However, the middle-order struggled terribly as India managed to post 208 runs at the halfway mark in 20 allotted overs. Rohit departed three short from his hundred while Dhawan contributed 74 runs with the bat.

Dhawan continued his rich form in the UK as he played his shots right from the start. The southpaw played his natural shots and looked comfortable on both the sides. While Dhawan dominated the proceedings in the first team, it was Rohit’s turn in the second half.

However, India tumbled on to lose three wickets in the 20th over off Peter Chase. However, it was Pandya, who boosted the morale of the team hammering the last ball to massive six

It was full-length delivery as Pandya plunged onto it to play a perfect MS Dhoni trademark helicopter shot. The all-rounder remained unbeaten on six runs off the first delivery.

However, it was an uphill task for the hosting team as they struggled while losing wickets at regular intervals.

Spin duo Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal starred with the ball as Ireland fell 76 runs short.
