The upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be a crucial one for Delhi Capitals star Prithvi Shaw. Things have not really panned out in an expected manner for the youngster in recent months and he will be desperate to hit the ground running in IPL 2020.

Since making a sensation Test debut against West Indies in 2018, he has suffered several setbacks. He missed the series in Australia after suffering an injury in the warm-up game. The right-handed batsman bounced back by impressing in last year’s IPL before he was suspended for violating doping rules.

As a result, he missed the entire home season which featured Test series against South Africa and Bangladesh. He, however, did well in domestic cricket after his comeback and found a place in the ODI and Test teams for the New Zealand tour. But Prithvi Shaw had a tour to forget as he managed just 84 runs in 3 ODIs and 98 runs in four Test innings before the pandemic halted the game around the world.

Having suffered several setbacks in recent months, the 20-year old will be looking to bounce back in IPL 2020 and it looks like he is all geared up for it. The youngster looked in sensational touch during Delhi Capitals’ intra-squad practice match earlier this week.

He was clearly the most impressive batsman as he took the bowlers to the cleaners. The right-handed batsman hit the ball all around the park with the pull shot off Anrich Nortje for a six being one of the best. Ajinkya Rahane, who is gearing up for his first season with Delhi Capitals, also looked in good touch.
