Former India U19 captain Priyam Garg could not make much of an impression on his IPL debut. He played his first game for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Royal Challengers Bangalore and managed to score only 12 runs off 13 balls before playing a rash show to throw his wicket away.

Priyam Garg had the chance to become a hero on his IPL debut as the opportunity was there for him to take SRH home. With 37 runs needed from the last four overs, he and Abhishek Sharma were in the middle and the onus was on them to take the team over the line.

But on the third delivery of the 17th over bowled by Shivam Dube, Priyam Garg lost his wicket and he only has himself to blame for. The youngster was struggling to play the big shots and thus tried to play an unorthodox shot. He shuffled across his off-stump and looked to scoop the ball past the keeper.

However, lack of pace from Dube meant the right-handed batsman failed to get any proper connection and ended up deflecting the ball onto stumps off his chest. Things then got worse for SRH as Sharma departed in the same over too, leaving SRH reeling at 135 for 6 in pursuit of 164.

Earlier in the match, RCB scored 163 for 5 in the allotted 20 overs with debutant Devdutt Padikkal and veteran AB de Villiers scoring fifties.

Padikkal and Aaron Finch gave RCB a solid start by adding 90 runs in 11 overs before departing in quick succession. Captain Virat Kohli did not last long either as RCB found themselves in trouble. However, de Villiers held firm from one end and slammed 51 off just 30 deliveries to ensure RCB end up with a challenging total. For SRH, T Natarajan, Vijay Shankar and Abhishek Sharma picked one wicket apiece.
