Watch: Shocking Video Showing Hyderabad Cricketer Dying On A Cricket Field
In a shocking news, a young man from Hyderabad collapsed on the field and died while playing in a local cricket tournament. The unfortunate incident took place on the nation’s 69th Republic Day on Friday (January 26). The cricket tournament was being played at the Banjara Hills.
The name of the deceased is Loyd Anthony. The deceased was bowling his third ball of the over when he suffered the cardiac arrest and was floored immediately. The players and organizers rushed towards his aid, and he was soon taken to a nearby local hospital. However, he was pronounced dead by the doctors. His body was later brought to his home in Hyderabad. According to media reports, Anthony, 23, was working at a college in the city.

The game of cricket has seen several on-field tragic incidents in the past too. 4 years ago, Australian batsmen Phil Hughes had died after being struck on the head by a bouncer during the match between South Australia and New South Wales. Some other players who succumbed due to on-field injuries are India’s Raman Lamba, Pakistan’s Zulfiqar Bhatti, South Africa’s Darryn Randall and England’s Ian Folley.
