Watch: "This Isn't Your Backyard": Virat Kohli And James Anderson Engage In A Verbal Altercation On Day 4

India captain Virat Kohli and James Anderson were involved in a verbal altercation on the fourth morning of the Lord’s Test.

Anderson has been a grumpy man ever since he faced those ten balls from hell from Jasprit Bumrah during the closing stages of the third day.

The English No.11 was roughed up by a barrage of verbal volleys by Bumrah and he clearly wasn’t impressed with it.

He was eventually knocked over by Mohammed Shami on the final ball of the day and post that, he was seen having an animated discussion with Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah while walking back to the dressing room.

Anderson was chirping away at Kohli, possibly abusing him like the Indian captain claimed while he was at the non-striker’s end during the morning session.

Kohli was heard as saying from the stump mic-

“You calling me a fucking prick while running on the pitch. This isn’t your backyard”

That said, England eventually had the last laugh as Virat Kohli failed to back with words with his performance with the bat as he fell in an extremely tame manner to Sam Curran.

He was looking good during his 31-ball 20 but his penchant to poke at balls outside the off-stump once again led to his undoing as he went about chasing a 7th stump delivery from Sam Curran to give a simple catch to Jos Buttler.

At the end of the first session on the fourth day, England have asserted themselves in a position of dominance with India effectively reduced to 3/29 in the second innings.
