‘Better late than never’ – wrote Virat Kohli as he took the much-hyped bottle-cap challenge on Saturday. The online challenge where the individuals are needed to open the cap of a bottle had become viral throughout the world. However, its craze had fizzled out in recent times and perhaps Kohli knew it too as he admitted he was late with the challenge.

The India skipper is currently in the Caribbeans for the full-fledged series against India. The tour has started on a stunning note for India. The Men in Blue blanked the world champions in the three-match series. India would have loved to continue their winning run in the ODIs too but the first game was washed out. Both the teams will now take on each other in the second game in Trinidad on Sunday (August 11).

And ahead of the crucial time, Kohli decided to take the bottle-cap challenge. The right-handed batsman took to Twitter to share the video of the challenge while writing: “Better late than never. #BottleCapChallenge.”

Kohli is not the first cricketer to take up the challenge. Prior to him, the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Shikhar Dhawan and Jofra Archer also tried out their hands at it. All of them did the challenge in their own unique way. The other interesting thing about Kohli’s clip was the old commentary of India’s head coach Ravi Shastri. The commentary was running in the background as Kohli aced the challenge.

Here is the tweet from Virat Kohli:

India, meanwhile, will be looking to take an unassailable lead in the ODI series today. A win today will give India an unassailable 1-0 lead in the three-match series. After the ODIs, both the teams will lock horns in a two-match Test series. The series will start on August 22 in Guyana.
