Virat Kohli’s reaction said it all. How many times have we seen any spinner getting the better of the India skipper in recent year? Well, the stats will certainly be in Kohli’s favour.

But as far as the ongoing series in the United Kingdom (UK) is concerned, Kohli has struggled to avoid throwing his wicket when it comes to spinners. In fact, he has fallen thrice in as many games.

In the first One-day International, he was stumped on the bowling of Adil Rashid for 75. It was Kohli’s first dismissal by that mode since 2011.

In the following game at Lord’s, he missed a straighter delivery from Moeen Ali and was given out leg-before-wicket (LBW). And in the ongoing game at Headingley, his fortunes against the spinners remained pretty much the same as Rashid castled him with a beauty.

Rashid bowled one gem of a delivery which pitched around middle and the leg stump, turned sharply before beating Kohli’s punch of an offer and hitting the off-stump

The batting mainstay Kohli was absolutely shell-shocked as he looked in wilderness towards his partner Mahendra Singh Dhoni before leaving the field.

Here is a clip of that wicket:

With the latest dismissal, the 29-year old Kohli missed another chance to score a ton on the ongoing tour. He had come to the crease when India lost Rohit Sharma for just 13 runs on the board.

The right-hander Virat Kohli held firm from one end and scored another impressive fifty. But just when it looked he is set for another century, he was undone by Rashid after scoring 71.
