Once again, the captain of the Indian National Cricket Team had a poor outing in the middle with the bat. Yet again, it was Tim Southee, who got better of Virat Kohli to make things fall in place for India. What was more surprising was that Virat wasted a review despite being plumb in front of the wicket.

The incident took place in the 25th over of the match when Tim Southee bowled a cracking outswinger to Virat Kohli. The Indian skipper, who usually plays them well, failed to get bat on it, which resulted in his failure. As soon as, bowler and team started appealing, the umpire raised that dangerous finger up to ask Kohli make a move.

Virat Kohli scored 3 runs:

Following the scenario, the skipper had a brief discussion with Cheteshwar Pujara at the other end, who couldn’t stop Virat Kohli from asking for a review. The replays suggested the ball hitting the middle of the pad, which saw India losing a review.

As far as the game is concerned, it was Indian National Cricket Team batted first on the green top after losing the toss. Though Mayank Agarwal walked back for a cheap score, the young Prithvi Shaw and Cheteshwar Pujara countered the bowling attack with their brilliant approach to the innings. The duo added 50-run partnership before Prithvi Shaw throwing his wicket away.

He was quickly followed by Virat Kohli while Ajinkya Rahane also lost his concentration for a while. However, Cheteshwar Pujara and Hanuma Vihari played with a lot of determination to add 81-run partnership for the fifth wicket before losing both wickets in the span of three runs.

Rishabh Pant yet again failed to make the most of the opportunity while Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah added 26 runs for the final wicket to help India post 242 on the board. For New Zealand, Kyle Jamieson picked 5-wicket haul.
