Bangladesh are trying hard to make India bat again in the ongoing historic day-night Test at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Ishant Sharma once again laid the platform for another collapse with early wickets with the pink ball in the second essay. However, it was skipper Virat Kohli who stole the show with on-point expression after grabbing a stunner to dismiss Imrul Kayes.

The host declared the innings at 347 for nine with 241-run in a bid to finish off the game within two days. Virat Kohli topped the scoring chart for India with another fine century along with contributions from Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara. Kohli brought his 27th Test century and in the process, broke a handful of records including touching Ricky Ponting in the list of most international centuries by a skipper.

He removed the first two batters including skipper Mominul Haque to provide early impetus to the side before Umesh Yadav knocked off Mohammad Mithun, who had earlier copped a blow on the head from a vicious Ishant Sharma bouncer. Struggling at nine for three, Bangladesh were in dire need of a partnership but Ishant came back again to dismiss Imrul Kayes.

Incidentally, Kohli had identified fielding as the toughest challenge ahead of the historic Test. He said that the ball comes a lot quicker and hit the hand hard making things difficult for the fielder. Bangladesh finally managed to fight back with Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullha leading the charge. But unfortunately, Mahmudullah had to walk back with a hamstring injury but Rahim scored a valiant fifty as Bangladesh look determined to make India bat again.
