Sri Lanka all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has been one of the top performers in what has been an underwhelming show from his side. Wanindu Hasaranga’s bowling has particularly been impactful and he was impactful with the bat in Sri Lanka’s win over India in the second T20I on Wednesday. Following the victory, he celebrated it passionately.

The cameras captured Wanindu Hasaranga’s face constantly during Sri Lanka’s winning moments in the thrilling second T20I in Colombo against India. Even though India set the hosts a modest 133 to chase, they remained behind in the run-chase for the most part. After man of the match Dhananjaya de Silva hit the winning runs, Hasaranga threw a bottle to celebrate the win.

Sri Lanka levelled the series with a four-wicket win on Wednesday after India took the first encounter by a commanding 38 runs. Wanindu Hasaranga followed his brilliant bowling performance in the first T20I with another handy outing in the second. The 24-year old ended with figures of 4-0-28-2 in the opening game and managed the crucial wicket of Devdutt Padikkal.

Apart from bowling well, Wanindu Hasaranga also scored a quick-fire 15 off 11 deliveries before Rahul Chahar saw his back. As a result, the spin-bowling all-rounder added 28 off 20 balls with Dhananjaya de Silva, helping the hosts seize the momentum in the middle overs. De Silva’s role in taking Sri Lanka home was as crucial as Chamika Karunaratne’s unbeaten cameo of 12 from six deliveries.
