Watch: "Wild Thing" Lance Morris Breaks Shaun Marsh's Bat Into Two Parts

After Shaun Tait, another Australian fast-bowler – Lance Morris – is becoming popular by the nickname of “Wild Thing” and the youngster has not taken long to show why he is being called so. On Friday, Melbourne Stars unleashed Lance Morris for his first game of the Big Bash League this season in the ongoing derby against cross-town rivals Melbourne Renegades.

And in his first over itself, Lance Morris made his presence felt. On the final ball of his first over, the 21-year old broke Shaun Marsh’s bat into two parts. On the last ball of the fourth over, Marsh went for a drive on a length ball. However, the ball hit the upper part of the bat and made an impact immediately by damaging the willow.

Marsh realised it and shook his bat straightaway to find out that his bat was indeed broken into two parts.

Here is a clip of that incident:

Meanwhile, the Renegades are well on their way to post a good total. Currently languishing at the bottom of the points table after losing their first seven games so far, the Renegades were 159 for 3 in the 18th over at the time of writing this report. Melbourne Stars, on the other hand, are at the top of the points table with 6 wins from seven games.

Both the teams are meeting for the second time this season. In the previous meeting, the Stars had thrashed the Renegades by eight wickets. Talking of the ongoing game, Shaun Marsh and Marcus Harris gave the Renegades a good start by adding 86 runs for the first wicket before the latter was run out for 42. Marsh went on to complete his fifty and was out for 63.
