Series against Sri Lanka has very much become a regular feature in Indian cricketing calendar. India played an away Test series against Sri Lanka in 2015, and the Men in Blue had gone on to win the series 2-1 under Virat Kohli’s captaincy.

The series was followed by a short limited-overs series at home in 2016. The Virat Kohli-led side then travelled to Sri Lanka in the second half of last year. They played three Tests, five One-Day Internationals and one T20I international, winning all the games.

A few months later, it was Sri Lanka’s turn to tour India. The Islanders played three Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is and once again lost all the series.

Not surprisingly, the fans were not impressed with the overdose of India-Sri Lanka cricket. And in a recent interview with Eros Now, Virat Kohli was asked about the same and the reply was as hilarious as one can expect.

Famous comedy group AIB interviewed Royal Challengers Bangalore trio – Kohli, AB de Villiers and Yuzvendra Chahal. During the interview, one of the hosts asked about the overdose of the India-Sri Lanka cricket.

“Can we just stop playing Sri Lanka. Aren’t you bored?, ” asked the host as the players started laughing.

And even before he could complete his sentence, de Villiers came up with a hilarious reply.

“That has become the off-season,” joked de Villiers.

Kohli also soon followed but refrained from seconding de Villiers.

“We count it as off-season because there is not much difference,” said Kohli, as he somehow stopped himself from making a controversial statement.
