Team India had a special visitors during their net session ahead of the third T20I against South Africa. Legendary Rahul Dravid surprised the Indian team, much to the delight of the players and the coaching staff. Rahul Dravid is currently based in Bengaluru since he is the head of the National Cricket Academy.

BCCI had appointed the former India skipper in July and relieved him of his duties with the India U19 and the India A sides. Rahul Dravid was the head coach of both the teams before taking up the role at the NCA. He has been tasked with the responsibility of looking after all cricket related activities at the NCA. Dravid will also be involved in mentoring, coaching, training and motivating players.

The former batsman, meanwhile, took some time out from his schedule and visited the Indian team at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The BCCI soon took to Twitter to post a picture of Dravid and current head coach Ravi Shastri shaking hands with each other.

“When two greats of Indian cricket meet,” wrote the BCCI.

However, the fans were not at all impressed with the caption which rightly called Shastri a legend and did not waste much time in trolling Shastri. The reaction from the fans were absolutely unexpected and harsh.

India, meanwhile, have taken an unassailable 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series. After the first game was washed out, the hosts thrashed the Proteas by seven wickets in the second encounter in Mohali. Asked to bat first, South Africa only managed a modest total of 149 for 5 despite their skipper Quinton de Kock scoring a fifty at the top. India then rode their skipper Kohli’s unbeaten 72 to chase down the total with ease.
