Windies managed to beat Bangladesh in the opening Twenty20 International of the three-match series. However, the world champions were found wanting in the next two matches as the visiting side posted big totals in the remaining two games to make it 2-1. Their series defeat meant that it was the gains of the Tigers and slip in the latest ICC T20I rankings for the Windies players during Windies vs Bangladesh 2018 contest. For the visitors, all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal gained eight and six spots to move up to 45th and 39th position respectively.
Bangladesh players make a rise in the ICC T20I Rankings:
Tamim and Shakib were the chief run scorers in the shortest version of the series. While Shakib scored 103 runs, Tamim ended up amassing 95 runs. Despite making runs for Bangladesh in the first two matches, the duo failed in the decisive clash.
However opener Liton Dassmashed a sensational 62 of just in 31 deliveries as Bangladesh registered a 19 runs victory. He jumped 22 places to be placed on 71.

Meanwhile, as the Bangladesh batters moved up, Windies opener Evin Lewis who has been quite a sensation in the shortest format went down to the 11th position from 7th.
After a relatively below-par ODI series, he would have hope to get his form back in the format which he likes. However, Mustafizur Rahman was quite impressive. And Lewis was not able to pick his variations before falling in his trap.
On the other side, the two experienced campaigners Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan would like to improve their ICC T20I Rankings.
All-rounder Andre Russell was impressive with both bat and the ball which reflected in the latest rankings. He scored a match-winning unbeaten 35, 17 and 47 which helped him move up 26 places. He is currently sitting on 86th position in T20I’s batters ranking.
Meanwhile Windies spinner Ashley Nurse also moved up to 91st position after gaining 21 spots. He bagged four wickets in the series to get a lift in his ratings.
