Indian Cricket team’s premier opener Rohit Sharma is celebrating his 31st birthday on Monday (April 30) while he prepares to take Mumbai Indians (MI) to the playoffs in the ongoing season eleven of the successful Indian Premier League (IPL).

Meanwhile, Rohit, born and brought up in Nagpur. Well, he burst on to the international scene at a very young age. Since then, he didn’t have to look back as he is having an illustrious career.

The stylish batsman made his List A debut in 2006, a year before he made it to the Indian team. Since then, he has been one of the finest batsmen India have produced in the limited-overs cricket without an iota of doubt.

The veteran of 180 One-day Internationals and 79 Twenty20 Internationals, Rohit has impressive numbers to back his ability. He is the only cricketer in the world with three double-centuries in ODIs. The Mumbai batsman also has the highest individual score of 264 runs to his name.

Moreover, he recently led India to a successful campaign during the 2018 Nidahas Trophy in Sri Lanka.

However, Rohit is yet to cement his place in the Test arena. Considered as one of the technically sound batsmen, but he has struggled in the longer format.
