Yuvraj Singh, in 2019, brought down curtains on his illustrious career after failing to make a cut into the Indian National Cricket Team. The flamboyant batsman wished to represent India in ICC World Cup 2019. Unfortunately, he did not get another recall. Things didn’t turn out in the way he would have wanted which prompted him to take retirement.
But despite that he beat the likes of MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and the young Rishabh Pant to become the most searched sportsperson of India in 2019. Yuvraj Singh hanged his boots in June, drawing curtains on a 20-year-long career. Away from Indian cricket, however, the former all-rounder has continued to wield the cricket bat with the Global T20 League in Canada and the Abu Dhabi T10 League. He wants to feature in various tournaments across the globe.
Yuvraj Singh is a third most searched person of India in 2019:
The stylish southpaw was in the news this year for quite a period of time. During the Indian Premier League, the flamboyant cricketer was a regular headliner and then announced the retirement. Following his retirement, he was once again in the news for signing a deal with Global T20 Canada followed by the Abu Dhabi T10 League.
Besides the tournaments, he also spoke on quite a few issues in the Indian Cricket. Thus, he surpassed the likes of the Indian skipper Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Rishabh Pant to be the most searched sportsperson of India in 2019. Rishabh Pant was the second-most searched sportsperson in the top-10 table.
In overall tally, India Air Force officer Abhinandan Varthaman was the most searched person on the search engine, followed by iconic singer Lata Mangeshkar, with Yuvraj coming in at number three. Google’s ‘Year in Search 2019’ also showed that the 2019 ICC World Cup was the most searched event in the country.

Surprisingly, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli and the former skipper MS Dhoni didn’t make into the chart. Both the players have been in the news regularly for obvious reasons. Still, the charisma of Yuvraj Singh beats the fan base of the two Indian stalwarts.
