Yograj Singh, former India cricketer and father of Yuvraj, just cannot stop criticising MS Dhoni. Time and again, he has taken shots at the former India skipper, accusing him of not supporting Yuvraj. Yograj Singh has now taken a shot at MS Dhoni for becoming the captain of the Indian team ahead of Yuvraj.

He compared Dhoni with former India skipper Sourav Ganguly and lavished praise on the latter. Yograj Singh said that while Ganguly backed his players and groomed them to become superstars, Dhoni did not do the same.

“The videos I have watched lately featuring Sehwag, Gambhir or Yuvraj, everybody has said something about Dhoni directly or indirectly. Why does everybody talk about Ganguly so much? When he started building the team, its ranking was 7. He took youngsters like Yuvraj, Kaif, Zaheer, Harbhajan, Sehwag and Gambhir and built a new team,” Yograj Singh told News24.

Yograj Singh further said that Yuvraj was supposed to be India’s next captain but Dhoni was given the job due to destiny and he also got a well-set team.

“It’s destiny that Yuvraj was supposed to become captain but Dhoni got the captaincy as well as a well-built team,” said Yograj.

Well, Dhoni took the charge of the team just few months after India’s disastrous exit from the 2007 World Cup. In no time, he made the team one of the best in the world and led India to glory in, 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy. Dhoni finished his captaincy career as India’s most decorated skipper.

Earlier this month, Yograj Singh had also accused Dhoni and Virat Kohli of betraying Yuvraj. He also blamed the selectors of the same. Yuvraj had brought down curtains on his career last year after failing to make the cut for the World Cup in UK.

“Along with these two, I would say that even the selectors betrayed him. I had met Ravi recently. He asked me for a photograph. I called him and pointed out that all great players should get a send-off based on their performances. When Dhoni, Kohli or Rohit retire, I would request the board to give them a good send-off as they have done so much for Indian cricket. Many have backstabbed him and it hurts,” he said.
