The currently ranked number 1 ODI team, India, boasts a large nursery of batters to chose from in their squad coupled with specialist bowlers within their ranks. Furthermore, the addition of quality allrounders such as Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel has provided immense balance to the overall strength of the squad.

However, in the last season and a half, Indians have greatly benefitted from the all-round contributions of Kedar Jadhav who has had the reputation of breaking partnerships with his golden arm.

Jadhav boasts a tally of 16 wickets in the 38 games he has played so far. Hard hitting batsmen such as David Warner, Colin Munro, Eoin Morgan and many others have found it difficult to pick his action properly and have usually given their wicket away at crucial junctures of the game in order to dispatch him with no respect.

That said, Jadhav’s side-on low trajectory deliveries have caused plenty of troubles to batsmen and captain Kohli has been smart in utilizing the services of the Pune cricketer with the ball.

In the match last night at Durban, it was the spells from Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvedra Chahal which changed the course of the game in the middle overs and in turn helped India restrict the hosts to a target of 270, 50 runs short in the hindsight. Kohli used Jadhav in the middle as well but the latter wasn’t effective when it comes to picking up wickets.

Kedar Jadhav instead was elated about the team’s effort and expressed his joy on Twitter by saying,”Rolled my arm over in our win against South Africa yesterday! I love bowling in the middle overs. Great spells from @yuzi_chahal & @imkuldeep18! And excellent knocks from @imVkohli and @ajinkyarahane88 to go 1-0 up.. Good start to the series!”

To which, Yuzvendra Chahal replied by saying, “Rolled your arm under not over Kedar bhaiyaaaa ? let’s keep this momentum going #BleedBlue #SAvsIndia,” much to the amusement of the Indian cricket fans.
