5. Won The First Four Matches As A Captain

Rohit Sharma started his international career as a captain of India in 2017 and he won the first four games comfortably. He won the first three games against Sri Lanka and his fourth win was against South Africa at the New lands in 2018. He is the only Indian captain to have this outstanding record.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli lost his first match in T20 internationals as a captain of the nation against England in 2017. Rohit has certainly had the upper hand in the first four games when compared to Virat Kohli as a captain in T20 internationals.

4. Only Indian To Score A T20I Century As A Captain

Rohit Sharma has the most number of T20 international centuries in the world with four to his name already. He also went on to score two out of those four centuries as a captain which is an astonishing fact. The elegant right-hander made 118 in the second T20i against Sri Lanka in the Holkar Cricket Stadium.

He also scored a brilliant unbeaten 111 against the West Indies in 2018 in Lucknow and India has also gone on to win both the matches when Rohit has scored a hundred as a captain. On the contrary, Virat has not scored a T20 international century yet and his highest score has been an unbeaten 94 in T20is.

Rohit Sharma has a better win percentage than Virat Kohli as a captain in one-day internationals. Rohit has captained India in 10 One day Internationals and has gone on win 8 of those matches with a win percentage of 80. He has lost just the two games and has scored a double hundred as captain in ODIs against Sri Lanka in 2017.

Virat Kohli’s numbers aren’t that bad too in One-day Internationals as a captain with 65 wins in 95 matches and have lost 27 games. His win percentage is 68.42 which is lower than the likes of Rohit. However, in the longer run, Rohit might find it difficult to catch up with Kohli’s numbers as a captain in ODIs.

Virat Kohli hasn’t been able to win titles for the nation which has been a big drawback in his captaincy. Rohit Sharma has been the most successful captain in the IPL history with five titles under his belt for Mumbai Indians. He has already won it in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020 as the skipper and he has never got the better of the team in crunch situations.

Virat Kohli so far has not won an IPL trophy in his career which is very surprising despite being the all-time leading run-scorer in the tournament. He has been playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise since the 2008 season and has been the skipper from the 2011 season. He took the team to two finals in 2011 and 2016 but couldn’t get over the line.
