India lost the final of ICC World Test Championship to New Zealand by 8 wickets in a rain-affected Test match at The Rose Bowl stadium in Southampton, England. While Indian pacers could not match up the strength of New Zealand pacers in the match, Indian batsmen too miserably failed to bat well in both innings.

India were restricted to just 217 and 170 in both innings against a deadly pace attack by Kiwi bowlers Kyle Jamieson, Tim Southee, and Trent Boult.

New Zealand became the undisputed champions of the tournament, which kickstarted back in August 2019. A total of 9 teams took part in ICC World Test Championship and after the conclusion of the group stage, India topped the points table with the highest PCT of 72.2.

However, India lost the one-off final to Kane Williamson-led side, facing defeat in yet another ICC tournament’s knockout game. Few Indian batsmen showed a brilliant performance during the tournament but they couldn’t repeat their brilliant show in the final. Here we take a look at the overseas batting average of Indian players during the ICC World Test Championship.
