Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were outstanding in the first half of the tournament, but it is going to be hard work for the franchise when IPL resumes as a few of their stars might miss out. This will be a big blow to the balance of the team which was perfect in this edition for the Chennai Super Kings.

They have already won five out of their seven games and have a healthy run rate too. Three more wins might get make them almost assured of a place in the playoffs but it isn’t going to be easy for them. They did not have the best of times in UAE in the last edition and here are 3 players from Chennai Super Kings who might miss the 2nd leg.

3 Players From Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Who Might Miss The 2nd Leg:

Sam Curran:

Sam Curran has been a wonder for the franchise ever since joining them last year and he has had a lot of impact performances already. The all-rounder has been taking the new ball alongside Deepak Chahar and he has managed to pick up 9 wickets in 7 games and finished as the highest wicket-taker for CSK this season.

With the bat, he did not get many opportunities and he was sent into the crease when the team needed a quickfire knock. He gave that on most occasions and has proved to be a match-winner for the side.  Chennai Super Kings do have the option of Dwayne Bravo, but they would have liked to have Sam Curran in the side who has been firing at all cylinders.

Moeen Ali:

Moeen Ali proved to be the difference for the Chennai Super Kings from their last edition. His addition has been a major boost to their side and he has been smacking it to all ends of the ground. CSK has used him very wisely by sending him at number three and he does cherish batting in the top order.

Moeen scored 206 runs in 6 games this season and he had a great impact with the ball. The off-spinner picked up 5 wickets in the 6 games and was very economical throughout his spells. Chennai Super Kings will certainly miss him and they will need to match it up with an Indian all-rounder like K Gowtham.

Mitchell Santner:

The New Zealand left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner did not get a game this season and has been on the sidelines for a long time now. The 29-year-old has just played six games for Chennai Super Kings throughout his career and he can play a big role for the side if he makes the playing eleven.

Santner is a regular feature in New Zealand playing eleven and he is one of the best three-dimensional players going around in the world with his abilities in all the departments. He is an electric fielder and is one of the most economical bowlers in T20 cricket. Chennai Super Kings will miss him as a backup option in the squad.
