IPL 2008

In the debut season of IPL, Rajasthan Royals won the title. They defeated Chennai Super Kings by 3 wickets in the final. The team led by Shane Warne won 13 matches out of 16 and lost just 3. They scored 2601 runs in the season, most than any other team. Shane Watson was their highest run-scorer with 472 runs in 15 matches. Graeme Smith smashed 441 runs in 11 innings whereas Yusuf Pathan hit 435 runs.

IPL 2009

In IPL 2009, Shane Warne-led side showcased a poor show and ended on the 6th spot in the points table. As a result, they didn’t qualify for the playoffs. Out of 14 matches, RR lost 7 games and won 6, while 1 match ended with no result. They scored 1688 runs in the season. Ravindra Jadeja was the team’s highest run-scorer with 295 runs in 13 matches.

IPL 2010

Rajasthan Royals once again performed poorly in IPL 2010, again under the leadership of Shane Warne. The team finished on the 7th spot in the points table, after losing 8 games out of 14 and winning 6. The Shane Warne and co. scored 2179 runs in the season. Naman Ojha and Yusuf Pathan were the team’s highest run-scorer with 377 and 333 runs respectively in 14 innings.

IPL 2011

In IPL 2011, Rajasthan Royals finished on the 7th spot in the points table out of 10 teams. The Shane Warne-led side played 14 games, out of which they won 6 and lost 7, and 1 match ended with no result. They scored 1540 runs in the season, least than any other team. Rahul Dravid was the team’s highest run-scorer with 342 runs in 12 matches. Shane Watson followed Dravid on the 2nd spot with 330 runs in 11 innings.

IPL 2012

In IPL 2012, Rajasthan Royals were led by Rahul Dravid. However, the franchise couldn’t change its fate and finished on the 7th spot in the points table. RR played 16 matches in the season, winning 7 and losing 9. The team smashed 2516 runs in the season. Ajinkya Rahane was RR’s highest run-scorer with 560 runs in 16 innings, while Rahul Dravid scored 462 runs in 16 innings.

IPL 2013

In IPL 2013, Rajasthan Royals managed to qualify for playoffs after failing to do it in the last 4 seasons. The team was led by Rahul Dravid and finished on the 3rd spot in the points table out of 9 teams. However, they lost to Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2 match which ended their journey. After making a comeback in IPL 2018 after being suspended for 2 seasons, Rajasthan Royals were led by Ajinkya Rahane. IPL 2019

In IPL 2019, Steve Smith was nominated as the new skipper for the team. The team showed very poor performance, finishing on the 7th spot out of 8 teams. RR won 5 matches and lost 8 out of 14, while one match ended with no result. The team accounted for 2194 runs in the season. Ajinkya Rahane was the team’s highest run-getter with 393 runs in 13 innings.

IPL 2020

RR was again led by Steve Smith in IPL 2020 but could not perform very well. They finished on the last 8th spot in the points table. Out of 14 matches, the team won 6 matches and lost 8. The franchise promoted Sanju Samson as the new skipper in IPL 2021 after releasing former skipper Steve Smith from the squad.
