ENG vs WI: England’s Ollie Robinson Set To Miss Third Test As Back Injury Continues To Hamper Him- Report

England pacer Ollie Robinson is most likely to miss the upcoming third Test against West Indies at Granada as his back issues persist. The series stands at 0-0 as the first two Test matches ended in a draw each, despite the best efforts of players from both sides.
The Sussex seamer has still not fully recovered from the back spasm that kept him out of the first two drawn Tests in Antigua and Barbados and will now miss the series decider that gets underway on Thursday.
While it was reported that Robinson trained on Tuesday (March 23), it is understood he felt some recurrence of the back spasms which have been bothering him since the end of the Ashes series and hence might miss the third Test against West Indies. It is highly unlikely England will risk him ahead of the deciding Test of the series.
Joe Root said afterward: “Ollie wasn’t as good as we would have liked or he was expecting himself. It’s just frustrating for him, as it is for me. He’s working very hard but there’s something that’s nagging away at him.
I’m not sure exactly of the medical prognosis. He’s just got to keep on doing what he’s doing and trust in time that he’s going to get himself back. We all know how effective he has been and how good he’s been in his short career up to now so the sooner we can get him back the better.”
Robinson’s lifestyle and conditioning were publicly questioned during this winter’s Ashes – mirroring private concerns within the management group – but it is understood things have been improving since Australia.
Craig Overton To Replace Matt Fisher In The England XI For The Third And Final Test Against West Indies
On the other hand, Craig Overton is set to replace Matt Fisher in England playing XI for the final Test match. Overton was supposed to play the second Test in Barbados, but felt dizzy in training and was rested as a precaution.
Joe Root said that Overton has been “knocking down the door” with county performances for a couple of years. And with the England team management like the all-around attributes, Overton will take preference over Fisher, given his very good fielding.
With the pitch likely to offer just a little bit more assistance to seamers, Chris Woakes is set to keep his place despite a modest start to the tour. Uncapped leg-spinner Matt Parkinson’s hopes of a Test debut appear to have been dashed by the fact that the Grenada surface looks livelier for seam bowlers.
