After the previous two Tests finished in draws, the West Indies chose an unchanged side for this week’s third and deciding Test against England in Grenada.

Cricket West Indies stated that the West Indies will keep the same 13-man squad for the third and final Test against England, which begins on Thursday in Grenada.

As the hosts held on for a second-Test tie in Barbados, captain Kraigg Brathwaite struck a first-innings 160 and an unbroken fifty.

Kyle Mayers, a batting all-rounder, and Anderson Phillip, an uncapped bowler, are still on the 13-man list after missing out in Bridgetown.

Chief selector Desmond Haynes commented, “We admired the fighting attitude from the batting department.” “We chose to stick with the same squad because we want to see them put in a strong performance in the third Test match.”

Haynes also praised skipper Kraigg Brathwaite for his spectacular century, which he followed up with a valiant fifty in the preceding match. “We were very impressed with captain Kraigg Brathwaite’s fight and the way he led from the front with the bat in both innings,” Haynes added.

Meanwhile, England will be out to show themselves after a string of poor results in Test matches. They were thrashed 0-4 in the Ashes earlier this year in their previous assignment in the longest format. As a result, Joe Root’s troops have every motive to put their best foot forward in the third.

England hasn’t won a series in the Caribbean since 2004, and they’ve only won one of their last 16 Test matches, putting them at the bottom of the World Test Championship standings.
